Monarca Minerals Inc. engages in the acquisition, exploration, and development of silver properties in Mexico. Its flagship property is the Tejamen silver property consisting of 23 mineral concessions covering an area of approximately 1,685 hectares located to the northwest of Durango. It also has an option agreement to acquire a 100% interest in the San Jose Project covering approximately an area of 5,580 hectares located in Chihuahua, northern Mexico. The company was formerly known as Oremex Silver Inc. and changed its name to Monarca Minerals Inc. in August 2016. Oremex Silver Inc. was incorporated in 1995 and is based in Toronto, Canada.
