Market Cap Scan Filter Plus More Fundamental Data
I have some good news for the many people who have asked me for a market cap scan filter. As of today you can finally filter by that piece of fundamental data, You'll see a couple of new parameters in the form where you enter your scan criteria. Those news parameters allow you to choose values for a minimum and a maximum market cap.
You'll also notice now see some fundamental data listed on the individual stock pages. You'll see the following data for most stocks:
- Market Capitalization (Cap)
- Earnings Per Share (EPS)
- Price-to-Earnings (P/E) Ratio
- Price-to-Sales
- Price-to-Book
- (Annual) Dividend amount
- Dividend Yield
***One big caveat: I've checked the market cap and earnings data of approximately 50 stocks against Yahoo Finance and Google Finance. For almost all of them the data matched up exactly or was very close. However, there were one notable excpetion -- GOOGL. (I suspect there are others with bad market cap data) The market cap number I have for GOOGL is way lower than what Yahoo and Google show (the correct numbers(?) ). I think part of the problem is that the market cap is spread across two classes of stock for Google/Alphabet. So I'd say if you're using the market cap data as a broad filter you should be fine. But I wouldn't make any crucial decisions off of that data without cross-checking it against another source.
