In 2015 Great Panther Silver purchased Cangold and, two years later, acquired Nyrstar's Coricancha mine in Peru.In 2014 a trespasser was killed by guards at the Guanajuato Mine. According to the company, illegal miners had "been entering the mine by force and with weapons, such that we have had to hire an armed security force".In 2017 Jim Bannantine temporarily succeeded Robert Archer as the company's chief executive officer.
