POET Technologies Inc. is a fabless semiconductor technology development company. The Company develops opto-electronic and photonic fabrication processes and products. It operates through the design of semi-conductor products for military and industrial applications segment. Its focus is on the design of III-V semiconductor devices, processes and products for data communication applications in the consumer, data center and computing segments. The Planar Opto-Electronic Technology (POET) platform enables applications in adjacent segments in military, industrial and mobility. The POET platform allows the simultaneous fabrication of electronic and optical devices on a single integrated circuit. It has two subsidiaries: OPEL Solar Inc. and ODIS Inc. (ODIS). Through its subsidiary, ODIS, the Company develops the technology to produce a monolithic, integrated opto-electronic microchip having market applications, such as infrared sensor arrays for homeland security monitoring and imaging.
